Coo-ee studio is a creative studio specialising in book and layout design, as well as children’s book illustration.
Jennifer Kyte studied art, design and photography the Arts Institute at Bournemouth, and holds an MA in Writing for Young People from Bath Spa University. As well as being a designer, she also works as a writing mentor.
Xiao is an illustrator with a background in printmaking, storyboarding, and book illustration. She has an MA in Design, and was awarded a V&A Book Design Award and Best Picturebook of China award.
They both work from Silk Mill Studios in Frome, Somerset.
Who we like to work with
We love working with like-minded people such as writers, artists and arts organisations. We’ve helped writers of different backgrounds, from those writing books for family members to professionals with wide readerships.
The artists and galleries we’ve worked with range from independents through to larger international organisations.
The environment and nature are important to both of us, so we like to work with those who celebrate and protect nature.
Writing mentoring
Jennifer has assisted writers at all stages of their careers, from those just starting out, to published authors. “I gained experience of assisting new and intermediate writers whilst directing Storyslingers writing group, and since studying an MA in Writing for Young People I’ve assisted several professional authors.”
